MILAN – Jollibee officially opened its first store in Europe on 11 April 2018. Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) Chief Executive Officer Ernesto Tanmantiong, joined by Philippine Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Domingo Nolasco, Philippine Consul General in Milan, Irene Susan B. Natividad, and other Italian and JFC officials, led the opening ceremonies at the store in Piazza Armando Diaz 7 in Milan.
Filipinos have been ardently patronizing the brand since its soft opening last month, lining up at the store in Milan for hours, just to have a taste of home. Patrons came from Rome, Venice, and as far as Vienna, Copenhagen, and Berlin.
Jollibee in Milan serves its star product, Chicken Joy, along with other favourites like burgers and rice meals.
Italy is home to approximately 180,000 Filipinos, the seventh biggest expatriate population in the country, according to data from Italian authorities.
