On Saturday, 01 December 2018, the Philippine Consulate General in Milan (Milan PCG), in collaboration with office of the Vice Mayor of Milan Anna Scavuzzo, the non-governmental organization (NGO) ALA Milano Onlus and Filipino community (Filcom) organizations, held a drug-awareness seminar, “Droghe, L’Effeto Che Fa” (Drugs, What it Does), at the Scuola del Corpo Polizia Locale, at Via Giovanni Battista Boeri 7, Milan.
The seminar, participated in by around 170 leaders and youth representatives of the Filcom is part of a broader effort to help prevent the use of illegal drugs, particularly among the youth.
Five (5) resource speakers from the city health and police services of Milan and ALA Milano Onlus provided participants with information on the harmful effects of various types of habit-forming drugs, legal consequences and penalties associated with the use of illegal drugs and the dangerous effects of psychotropic drugs while driving and support services for drug-dependents and their families.
