In commemoration of the 122nd anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal’s 1896 execution at Bagumbayan, the Philippine Consulate General in Milan held a simple ceremony on 28 December 2018 at the Consulate’s Galleria Filipina.
Consul General Irene Susan B. Natividad delivered a message on the life and works of Dr. Jose Rizal. A flower offering by the Consul General and Mr. Emerson Malapitan, Knight Commander of Rizal Area Commander of Italy was laid at the foot of Rizal’s bust.
After a short video of “Rizal in Italy”, the ceremony culminated with a reading by Mr. Malapitan of Rizal’s famous poems, “Kundiman”, in Filipino.
Officers of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan together with the Knights of Rizal in Modena and future Knights of Rizal in Milan commemorated the 122nd Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in a simple ceremony on 28 December 2018.
