The Philippine Consulate General in Milan (Milan PCG) graced a number of celebrations organized by Filipino organizations on the occasion of the Feast of Senior Santo Niño in northern Italy.
On 20 January 2019, Consul Mersole Mellejor represented Milan PCG at a celebration in Via Termopili 7, which coincided with the 25th foundation anniversary of the Filipino Community of Santo Niño de Cebu. The celebration, with the theme, “Mga Kabataan at Pamilya sa Misyon: pinakamamahal at pinalakas ni Señor Santo Niño” was highlighted by the Sinulog street dancing by performers of the Cebuanos and Friends Association of Milan, which included a representative of Milan PCG. The event concluded with the Holy Mass said by Monsignor Franco Agnesi.
In Turin, Labor Attachè Maria Corina Buñag represented Milan PCG at the opening of the Torino Sinulog Festival 2019: European Pista Señor Celebration on 26 January 2019. The event, jointly organized by the Filipino Chaplaincy of Turin and the Associazione Culturale Filippina del Piemonte (ACFIL), brought together a number of Sinulog contingents from different countries in Europe.
On Sunday, 27 January 2019, Milan PCG also joined the celebration of the Feast of Señor Santo Niño of the Mindoro Bansudeños Association of Milan.
The presence of Milan PCG in the various celebrations is an expression of its solidarity with the members of the Catholic Filipino community in its jurisdiction in their devotion to their patron Señor Santo Niño.
