23 October 2019. The Philippine Consulate General in Milan, represented by Acting Head of Post Mersole J. Mellejor, received the awards won by PHL company SGD Bodega Coffee, also referred to as Sagada Coffee, given during the 5th International Contest of Coffees Roasted in their Countries of Origin by the Paris-based Agences Pour La Valorisation Des Produits Agricoles or AVPA (Agency for the Valorization of Agricultural Products).

The awarding ceremony was held on 21 October 2019 at the booth of expresso machines manufacturer Sanremo at the 41st International Hospitality Exhibition (Equipment, Coffee and Food) in the Rho Fiera in Milan, Italy.

The annual contest serves as a platform for native coffee producers to be recognized at the international level. The winners are chosen by a jury composed of professionals in the coffee industry (producers, roasters, and distributors), chefs, gourmets and discerning consumers.

SCG Bodega Coffee won a Bronze Award for coffee from Sagada and a Gourmet Award for Mirabueno coffee from Bukidnon. The awards were handed by AVPA President Philippe Juglar. This is not the first time that the company won an award from the competition. It also received a Gourmet Award during the 3rd edition of the contest in 2017.
