On Tuesday, 11 February 2020, Consul General Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan, Italy, met with the Vice Mayor of the City of Milan, Dr. Anna Scavuzzo at the latter’s office in Piazza della Scala 2. Vice Mayor Scavuzzo is in charge of the portfolio on urban security and food policy of the city.
During the call, Consul General Fernandez conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity for the Consulate to work with the city government of Milan on initiatives for Filipinos living and working in the city. In December 2018, Milan PCG and the office of Vice Mayor Scavuzzo co-organized a Drug Awareness Seminar for members of the Filipino community.
Both officials agreed to continue their partnership, focusing on promoting awareness on matters of the environment and public sanitation. They also exchanged views on Milan’s Food Policy, which has received numerous awards and has become the subject of case studies on sustainable food management at the national and international levels.
