The creations of renowned Filipino industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue were in full display at the recently concluded 57th Salone del Mobile 2018, in Milan, Italy. Mr. Cobonpue is participating in this year’s Salone in collaboration with ALU Collection.
In addition to the main site at Rho Fieramilano, a number of Mr. Cobonpue’s works were displayed at the shop of British couture Vivienne Westwood for the Fuorisalone, which was held from 17 to 22 April 2018 during Milan’s Design Week.
Consul General Irene Susan B. Natividad and other officials of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan visited Vivienne Westwood’s shop and the ALU Collection at Rho Fieramilano where they met Mr. Cobonpue and his team.
Consul General Natividad congratulated Mr. Cobonpue for yet another successful participation in this year’s Salone del Mobile and thanked him for continuing to represent the best of Philippine furniture design in the biggest furniture show in the world. She also expressed hope that Mr. Cobonpue and other furniture designers from the Philippines will participate in similar exhibitions in the future.
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is widely considered as the benchmark for the global furniture and furnishing industry. The Milan Fair serves as an excellent venue for international commerce and the introduction of advanced design trends and is a popular meeting place for furniture designers, suppliers, buyers and plain enthusiasts. It is held annually in Milan, Italy, Europe’s furniture design capital.
