In commemoration of the 157th birth anniversary of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal on 19 June 2018, the Philippine Consulate General in Milan and the Emilia Romagna Alliance of Filipino Communities (ERAFILCOM), which is comprised of several Filcom organizations in Emilia Romagna including the Knights of Rizal Modena Chapter, held separate activities in Milan and Reggio Emilia to mark the occasion.

Rizal’s famous works— the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibustermo — were on display at the lobby of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan. In Reggio Emilia, leaders and representatives of the ERAFILCOM conducted a floral offering in a Rizal corner set up at Via Vasco, Agosti 6, site of this year’s Philippine Independence Day activities hosted by Bahaghari ASD. END
